This morning Colorado Public Radio aired a story about the transformation that has taken place at George over the past year. If you haven’t heard it yet, I encourage you to go listen to it HERE.

Last year was a year of hard work, reinvention and valuable investment of time and energy from the George community. Nothing we have accomplished so far would be possible without the committed parents, students, teachers, and community partners who have put their full force and faith behind transforming the student experience at George.

The most meaningful part of the CPR story was hearing the voices of students. As adults in a school setting, we can stand around and point to new initiatives and say “mission accomplished,” but until that change is adopted and believed in by those whom it affects ” it means nothing. Hearing from our students about how they see the school changing is encouraging.

We have more work to do. The success of this year depends on carrying forward the energy that we are feeling right now and reminding ourselves that, no matter what, we are here to support young adults as they prepare themselves to take on the future.
