We have hit our second semester stride here at George. Students are selecting their courses for next year, teachers are giving practice exams for Advanced Placement courses, and the administration continues to plan for next year.
Just this morning we finalized the bell schedule for 2015-2016 ‚Ä” we will be publishing this in the next few weeks.¬ We also looked at the schedule for the upcoming PARCC tests. The Partnership for Assessment of¬ Readiness¬ for College¬ and Careers (PARCC)¬ is a group of states that have developed assessment measures to determine if students are on track for success after high school.¬ This will be our first year administering these assessments and, because the entire school will be participating, there are scheduling logistics to consider. We are working to finalize this schedule and will share this information as soon as possible.
Over the next four months we will continue to make decisions about the 2015-2016 school year, many of them being informed by the trajectory of the One George Initiative. Our intent is to be transparent, so we will continue to share information about these changes as they unfold. Overall, I’m eager to see the positive impact on our school environment as the shifts become implemented. As always, we welcome your input and candor. Feel free to always reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
