Mentorship Program

Peer Mentoring offers opportunities for students to work with other students trained in the origins of conflict and recognition of bias. Students learn to recognize and meet the inherent challenges of a diverse student body and community. This program targets 9th grade students who often find the adjustment from middle school to high school difficult. Typically, identified students find they are failing one or more classes early into their high school experience. As a result, they may fall behind in classes and begin demonstrating a lack of commitment to school life. The aim of the Peer Mentoring program is to effectively enhance the climate of cooperation and education, both in and out of our school.
