Program Alternative to Summer School (PASS) PASS is a credit recovery program that models what adults face when working full time then earning a degree after a full day of work. The GW student must go to school (work) all day then attend PASS classes after a full day of their normal school schedule. Student feedback has been positive. Students have a much longer time to learn the material and also experience a real world dilema. Students must attend their PASS classes after school and on several weekends to earn the credit originally not earned in the convential school day. The no excuse attendance and punctualilty requirement is strict since policy dictates students must have a minmum amount of classtime inorder to earn the full five credits. Of course, successful completion also requires that the the classwork is completed successfully. PASS classes are offered both first and second semester. The non-refundable cost of the PASS class helps to pay for the instructor and any materials. There are no scholarships. Remember a student can avoid the need for PASS if the student passes the class the first time it was offered in the regular school setting. Contact the school counselor for the next PASS classes and for more information.
