About the Library: 

The Elmer Andrew Alvery Media Center at George Washington High School has a collection of books, periodicals, electronic resources, and audiovisual materials selected to support the curriculum and engage students in the lifelong learning process. The staff is committed to student achievement through information literacy, promoting the ability to find, evaluate and use library resources and technology effectively and efficiently.  The Library offers students unique activities that encourage creativity, research skills, technology competence, and recreational reading. Come visit us soon and often! 

Books are checked out for three weeks and may be renewed once. If a book is lost, you will be charged a replacement fee for that item. Reference materials may be checked out only overnight. 
 
Library Hours:

The Library welcomes students and faculty starting at 7:30AM - 4PM.  The library will be closed immediately after school on certain Wednesdays due to faculty meetings.   The library will close for the week at 3:15PM on Fridays.

Library Rules:

Food and drink are not allowed in the library at any time.

Please leave backpacks and book bags at the entrance of the Library on the shelves provided. The Library is not responsible for lost or stolen backpacks or items taken. Protect your valuables.

Please use our technology only for educational purposes. If you access inappropriate material on the Internet, your computer privileges may be revoked.
