What is Link Crew?

Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout their first year of high school. Students helping one another is what creates success. Link Crew trains juniors and seniors to be Link Leaders. As positive role models, Link Leaders become motivators, leaders and teachers who help the freshmen discover what it takes to be successful in high school.

What will it do for Freshmen?

Link Crew increases freshmen success; studies have shown that if students have a positive experience in their first year of high school, their chances for success are better.  Juniors and seniors who have already been through the challenges of high school understand how hard it is to adjust to a new school.  As Link Leaders, juniors and senior give support and guidance to the freshmen.

What will it do for Upperclassmen?

Link Crew is a leadership training program.  Juniors and seniors are trained in team building activities, cooperative skill development, and discussion skills.  Each Link Leader receives a list of 8-10 freshmen, in which they are to call and personally invite to the orientation.  Each Link is to work and stay in touch with their freshmen throughout the school year.

Link Crew Objectives

To empower juniors and seniors as role models for freshmen

To increase academic success through support of peers

To develop leadership skills in students on campus

To allow successful older students to pass on positive traditions to younger students

To expose students to a variety of individuals at school in positive situations

To teach students that by working together they can be successful and enjoy one another

To help create a supportive and positive atmosphere on campus
