  • BSA Annual GW Talent Show

    Celebrate the end of Black History Month with the Black Student Alliance by attending the annual GW Talent Show this Friday, March 2. The show starts at 6:00pm in the GW Auditorium. Tickets are $3 for students with their IDs, and $5 for students without their IDs. We have some amazing acts, so come support your fellow Patriots!

  • Support GW’s Pi Day Celebration

    Pi Day is coming, and the GW Math Department needs your help! On Friday, March 16, we will be hosting an celebration for the entire department (we would celebrate on March 14, but not every student has a math class that day).   • Engraved Pavers Are Now Available

    You can still order personalized engraved pavers for you students and loved ones to be installed before the end of the school year. Orders must be placed before Sunday, March 25, so don’t delay! Pavers are installed at the north entrance of the school. Tree dedications are also available. 100% of proceeds benefit GWHS Grounds through the Committee.   • GW Red Cross Club Bonfils Blood Drive

    Bonfils Blood Center and George Washington’s Red Cross Club will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, March 6, from 8:00am – 1:30pm. Students aged 16-17 are welcome to donate with a signed permission slip from a parent; see Mr. Hildner to pick up a permission slip. Staff and students over 18 who are interested may sign up in Mr. Hildner’s room (219) during lunch or after school.

  • ByeBye Bully Speaker Series – Beth Yohe

    The ByeBye Bully Speaker Series continues this week with a timely talk by Beth Yohe, Executive Director of the Conflict Center, on managing conflict and creating dialog across differences. It will be held on Thursday, March 1, during lunch period in the GW Library, and a free pizza lunch will be served. The final speaker of the series will be Dr. Carrie Olson, a recently elected member of the DPS School Board, who will share her perspective on the topic of bullying in DPS. Dr. Olson will be speaking on Thursday, March 15 during lunch in the library.

    All students, faculty, staff and parents are invited and welcome to attend both talks. Also, enter the Club’s Instagram Positive Words Challenge @ByeBye.Bully and you’ll be entered to win an Amazon gift card.

If you’ve answered yes to all of these questions, then you should apply to be a student representative on GW’s Student Board of Education Team HERE. We are looking for three new students to serve as leaders on the Student Board of Education. Stop by Ms. Richason’s room if you’d like more information or would prefer a paper application. Applications are due March 23, 2018 by 3:00pm.

    The GW Yearbook staff will be holding their annual photo shoot for all clubs at GWHS. This event will be in the gym on March 1, 2018 from 10:40am to 12:20pm. Club schedules have been made and will be hung around the school!
