  • Changes to AP Exam Fee Processing

    This year, registration for all AP exams will run January 28-March 6. During this time, students will register and pay their exam fees online using the form HERE. Because of changes in how accounting is handled within Denver Public Schools, all AP exam fees will now be paid online at the time of registration.

    Each AP exam costs $94, and there is an additional $4 online payment administration fee. As with previous AP administrations, please contact Kelly Vigil in the Treasurer’s Office for financial assistance in paying AP exam fees.

  • P3 Community Meeting – Teen Drug Abuse and Recovery

    Pizza, childcare, and interpretation services will be provided.

    It has never been easier for teens to have damaging experiences for which they are not prepared. GW students, parents, and community members are invited to join Zach and Joel Appel for a thought-provoking dialogue about the experiences of both father and son after Zach’s decision, then 14, to begin using drugs and alcohol which nearly ended his life three years later. The talk will focus on behaviors and evidence that indicate a problem, parents’ enabling behaviors that seem loving but perpetuate a bad situation, the importance of healthy boundaries, and specific suggestions for keeping teens safe.     Seniors, GW’s College Application Day will take place this Wednesday, January 23 from 10:00am to 2:00pm in the Community Room. If you need to apply to more colleges, please stop by to receive assistance. In addition to GW Future Center staff, representatives from many local colleges will be present to answer any questions that you may have.

    As of January 1, 2019, all youth (ages 6-19) are eligible for an RTD Youth Special Discount Card (SDC) that provides a 70 percent fare discount for regular bus and train service. Click HERE for more information.

  • GWHS Food Pantry Open Fridays

    The GWHS Food Pantry will be open each Friday from 2:30pm – 3:00pm. The pantry is open to the entire GW high school community. If your family is being impacted by the government shut down or potential strikes, emergency grocery gift cards and food are available. Drop a note in the GWHS Food Pantry mailbox outside Room 109, or email gwhs_studentassistance@yahoo.com. We want to make sure no families are going without food in our community!

  • First IB Application Deadline – Wednesday, January 16

    Sophomores, are you interested in a college-prep program whose mission is to cultivate critical thinkers, engaged in their communities, who are going to change the world? Then the IB Diploma Program is right for you! You must fill out the application HERE in order to register for classes during Choice of Studies. The first application deadline is this Wednesday, January 16. If you have any questions, see Mr. Maez in the Success Center.

  • Juniors – Register for the Optional SAT Essay

    For the SAT this spring, 11th grade students will have to opt in to register for the optional essay. The default registration for all students is the SAT without essay. Students who wish to take the optional essay must register for it in advance.

    The essay registration window opens today, January 15, and closes on Tuesday, February 12. This will be the only opportunity for students who wish to take the optional essay to add it to their April school day test registration. Students may add the essay to their registration through their online College Board account or by calling the College Board.

    A flyer for students on how to register for the optional SAT Essay is available on the College Board website in English (HERE) and Spanish (AQUÍ). Please note the optional essay is only for 11th graders taking the SAT; 9th and 10th graders taking the PSAT 9 and PSAT 10 do not have an essay.
