Employee of the Month! Please use the form HERE to nominate a staff member who is doing outstanding work at George. Please be verbose in your writing; we are looking for professionalism, contributions to the greater GW community, and readiness to go above and beyond.
The school spirit freshman seminar group from Mr. Bolz’s advisory class has been working hard to encourage more school spirit in GW. Join this group of students and the rest of the GW community and celebrate our school by wearing green and white every Friday! Start this week, and continue on through the rest of the year.
Please join us for a fundraiser to support the Surveyor, GW’s student newspaper. Stop by GW’s neighboring Chipotle (820 South Monaco, Unit 1B) on Saturday, March 17 between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Tell the cashier you’re there to support the GW Surveyor, and 50% of the proceeds from your order will be donated to fund student journalism at George!
Students – GW is looking for student volunteers for its annual Go Green Day on Saturday, April 21, from 8:30am – 12:30pm. If you have a green thumb, are looking for volunteer hours, or just want to spend time with your friends, sign up to participate HERE. Stop by to see Ms. Richason if you have any questions.
Adults – We are looking for adults who can help supervise tree planting on Go Green Day. The Denver Forestry Office is generously providing 14+ large trees to be planted on campus this spring. We anticipate that we will have a good number of student volunteers to help, but we are still looking for a few more adults to help supervise the tree planting. Training will be provided prior to Go Green. Please e-mail Lisa at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help, or for additional information.
Come support your friends in GW’s choirs at their Spring Choir Concert. They’ve been working hard all semester, and they sound great! The concert is this Thursday, March 15, from 6:30pm until 7:30pm in the Auditorium. Choir concerts are always free and open to the public.
Live, from Denver, It’s Friday Night! This Friday, March 16, at 7:00pm in the GW Auditorium, the Patriot Players will be presenting their annual fundraising comedy show. All acts are written and performed by students. Don’t miss this fun evening of laughs and entertainment.
You still have time to join the Outdoor Adventure Club! Please come see Ms. LeRoux in Room 130 or Ms. Mamatas in Room 230 for permission forms. Our first hike is a great beginner hike at Red Rocks on March 20. You need to get your permission forms filled out and submitted before then to be able to go. Come join the fun!
The Red Apple Recycling fundraiser for Grow Club and the GW Grounds Committee has begun!
