  • Baseball Fundraiser Updates – Chipotle and Bumper Stickers!

    Spring Fever is in the air, and so is Baseball! Come watch our Varsity team take on Westminster this Thursday at 4:15pm on our GW field. While you’re in the area, grab your meal from Chipotle (820 South Monaco) anytime from 3:00pm – 7:00pm, and 50% of your purchase will benefit our program. Just mention “Patriot Baseball” when you order. The Baseball program is also selling George bumper car stickers for $3 each, or 2 for $5. Visit our snack shack to get yours. Check MaxPreps for both our JV and Varsity schedules, and let’s cheer on our boys!

  • Cheerleading Tryouts

    Do you want to become a part of the GW Cheer Squad? Now’s your chance! Tryouts are coming up on Friday, April 21, at 5:00pm in the gym. To help you get ready, GW Cheer is hosting a Parent Informational Meeting on Friday, April 14 at 6:00pm in the Community Room, and Cheer Clinics from Monday, April 17, until Thursday, April 20, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in the Dance Room.

    Remember, you must have a current sports physical on file with the Athletics Department before Monday, April 17, as well as pay a non-refundable $20 athletics tryout fee. Cheer tryouts will be open, and will cost $3 per person. Please contact Coach Jamari at jamari.hysaw@gmail.com with any questions!

  • National Honor Society Applications

    The National Honor Society application has now opened! To be eligible to apply, students must be current freshmen, sophomores, or juniors, and must have at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA.   • Testing Schedule for April 5-7

    Freshmen have CMAS testing from 7:30am – 11:35am every day this week. Sophomores have AP mock exams from 7:30am – 11:35am every day this week. Junior classes have testing by science class on Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30am – 11:35am and make up testing in the morning on Friday. Seniors have AP mock exams and IB study sessions from 7:30am – 11:35am every day this week.

    Everyone will go to periods 1,2, and 3 on Wednesday after lunch, 4,5, and 6 on Thursday after lunch, and 7 and 8 on Friday after lunch. Remember to take these tests seriously, as they directly effect GW. Good luck, everyone!

  • Senior Meeting

    Seniors! There will be a class meeting on Monday, April 10, during lunch in the Auditorium. We will be voting on senior prank ideas, senior ditch day locations, and senior sunset locations, as well as nominating seniors for prom royalty. This will be the only time to vote on these decisions, so make sure to come and get your voice heard. We’re almost there, guys!

    This Friday, April 7, starting at 7:00pm, the illustrious Patriot Players will be holding their annual comedy review. All sketches and music are written and performed by GW students. Tickets at the door are $5. Friday Night Live is a long-standing fundraising tradition for the Patriot Players, and we promise you will be entertained.

  • GW Grounds Service Day, Saturday, April 8

    Please join us in preparing for George’s new community garden! We will be meeting at the garden site just outside of the greenhouse on the south side of the building for a workday this Saturday, April 8, 9:00am – 12:00pm. April 15 will be the next service day, when we will have help from Denver Urban Gardens installing pathways and getting the community garden plots ready for spring planting. All are welcome!

  • Student Ambassador Application Now Available

    Sophomores and Juniors, the application to serve as a student ambassador for next year is now available. The GWHS Ambassadors serve as the face of the school at various recruitment events, community events, and school events. If you are interested, you must be entering the 2017-2018 school year as a Junior or Senior. Applications can be found HERE. You must use your DPS login to complete the application.
