Attention, gardeners! There is one remaining plot available in the GW Community Garden for this summer season. Use the space to grow fresh delicious veggies for your family all summer. Plots are available to students, school families, and community members. A small rental fee for the season is paid to Denver Urban Gardens, and scholarships are available. To reserve a plot, or for additional information, contact Lisa at email@example.com. Hurry – it’s already time to plant lettuce, spinach and peas!
Do you love dogs and/or cats? Help the Freshman Advisory team support our local shelters by purchasing stuffed animal and candy baskets during lunch on April 11 and 13 in the Pikes Peak Lobby near the Main Office. All proceeds will be donated to a local animal shelter. Also, look for our flyers in the hallways and give us support by signing your name. We also have a petition that will be coming out soon. Get ready for upcoming tests! On Tuesday, April 10, Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors will be taking the PSAT and SAT. On Wednesday, April 18, Juniors will be doing CMAS testing. Students nominated for CLEP testing will get their new testing dates next week. If you have any questions about any of these tests, talk to Ms. Mondello in Room 203.
Seniors, Cap and Gown pictures taken on March 16 have arrived! Stop by the Main Office to pick up your pictures before school, during lunch, during your off period, or after school.
Regional Summer School is now open for student applications! Students who need to enroll in Summer School to complete their current credit recovery course or start a new one should see their College & Career Advisor as soon as possible. Summer School will run June 18 to July 13 from 8:00am-12:00pm at various high schools around Denver. Students must meet with their College & Career Advisor in order to apply.
Do you want to win a free ticket to Prom? Participate in the “PROMise” raffle, and pledge to make your Prom an unforgettable one by making safe decisions. Each pledge will be put up on display in the North Lobby. Pledge cards will be available for pick up and drop off in the Main Office, School Engagement Office, The Success Center, the Future Center, or the Library beginning on Monday, April 9! Winners will be announced during the first week of Prom ticket sales, April 30 – May 4.
This year’s Prom Reveal party will be held at Spider Monkey on Thursday, April 5, 7:00pm – 8:00pm. For a discounted price of $10, students can get a free pair of grip socks, jump and hang around, and learn about the location and theme of this year’s Prom. Tickets can be purchased from the Treasurer’s Office. GW has booked out the entire place, so bring your friends and make it a night to remember!
If you are planning to bring a guest to Prom who is not a current student at GW, your guest must be approved before you can purchase a ticket for them. You can print the guest approval form online HERE, or pick up a paper copy from the Main Office or the School Engagement Office. Make sure to return your completed form to the School Engagement Office before the deadline at 3:00pm on Friday, May 4.
