  • Class of 2018 Graduation – Wednesday, May 23

    Seniors, families, and friends, mark your calendars now! Graduation will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 23, at the Denver Coliseum. There is a lot of construction going on near the area, so please keep an eye out for communication regarding directions and parking.

  • Senior Prom Attendance Requirements

    Seniors – remember, in order to attend Prom, you must meet the following requirements:

    • Attended mandatory senior meeting on January 11, 2018 – you will need to have a verified signature on your Prom Requirements Proof of Completion Form.
    • Completed ICAP/Naviance Requirements – you will need to get your Prom Requirements Proof of Completion Form signed by your College and Career Advisor.
    • Fees paid in full to Treasurer – you will need to get your Prom Requirements Proof of Completion Form signed by the Treasurer.
    • Complete 80% of Credit Recovery Courses – if you are taking credit recovery classes, you will need to get your Prom Requirements Proof of Completion Form signed by Matt Tillson.
    • Dance guest approval forms – if you want to purchase tickets for non-GW students, your guest approval form must be turned in by May 4, 2018. Download a copy of the guest approval form HERE.

     

    A letter with these requirements, along with other important dates and deadlines for the remainder of the semester and a fee statement, was mailed out before Spring Break on Tuesday, March 20. Please continue to also check online for these dates.

  • Attend a DPS Family Leadership Institute

    DPS’s Family Leadership Institute promotes academic partnerships and leadership through interactive sessions that bring together families from across the district to enhance their advocacy skills at the home, school, and district levels.  The topic for the upcoming session is Organizing Others. Attendees will engage in table discussions and interactive activities to learn about the organizing cycle, school-level advocacy, strategies for organizing others for school and district success, and ELA DAC Board Elections.   • GW Grounds Service Day on April 7

    Students and parents, please come and help spruce up the GW grounds during our next service day on Saturday, April 7. Tasks include cutting back perennials, cleaning up in the school/community garden, and preparing for Go Green Day on April 21. Please meet us near the community garden on the south side of the school. Plan to work from 10:00am to 12:00pm. This is a great opportunity for students needing service hours!

    P3 Celebrations and Reflections

    Details: Snacks, childcare and interpretation services will be provided.

    Proud Patriot Parents (P3) will join together to celebrate and reflect on the organization’s second year. We invite the GWHS community to help P3 “look back” and “look ahead” as we strive to maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and unified school community, and to advocate for the success of GWHS students and families. We’ll present the “P3 Year in Review,” share P3 survey results, and award the Patriot Prize to one extraordinary volunteer. Every voice is important to ensure P3 is a vibrant and representative organization.

  • Seniors – Submit Scholarship Awards

    Seniors, the scholarships you have been awarded will appear by your name in the graduation program. To make sure programs are printed in time for the ceremony, Ms. Rainey must submit this information by April 16. Please visit the Future Center or email Ms. Rainey all of your scholarship awards – including athletic scholarships, all college scholarships, and private scholarships – before Monday, April 16.
