Name: Melody Potter
Coach’s Expectations: I expect that my athletes are at practice everyday with a positive attitude. I expect my athletes to have strong and open communication with me about their needs, concerns, etc. I expect the students to also be mentally and physically present at practice and in the classroom. Students must maintain good grades to participate and exhibit dedication to academics and the sport they are in. Above all I expect my athletes to be respectful, kind, supportive, inclusive and dependable. I want this to be a true team experience.
Monday – Friday
4:00pm – 6:00pm
Location: Denver South High School
Best Way to Contact Coach: Monday – Friday 10:00am – 6:00pm via email or text
Coach to Student: Since the communication with students is generally more time sensitive phone calls/texting is the best way to stay updated. I have asked the students to download the app “Remind” and that will allow me to send announcements and general group messages.
Coach to Parent: My main source of communication with parents will be through email. I will send a weekly email including information on the upcoming week and a recap of the previous week. My phone number is also available so I will gladly take texts and phone calls as well.
- DPS Athletic Fee – $60.00 ($10 for FRL students)
- We have not yet solidified the new gear for this season. We are looking to make new t-shirts and new warm up leotards and warm up suits. I will notify families as soon as possible when we have a price range set in place.
Parents can get involved in many ways this season mainly regarding food, rides, fundraising and equipment set up for meets. We will have a bake sale soon and a concessions stand for the Rebel invite so we will need parent support in supplying the food. Students often need rides as most of them do not drive so hopefully car pools and other ride arrangements can be set up to make sure the athletes get where they need to be safely. If anyone has any ideas for fundraising I will take all suggestions and we will have open communication about what we will do and when. The most important involvement needed from parents is going to be the equipment set up at meets. We have a small team so we need as much help as we can get to set up the gym.
