CareerConnect Round Up – October 31, 2017
Last week, all of Mr. Barotz’s 9th Grade BusinessConnect Advisory classes visited the Kansas City Federal Reserve Denver Branch for an engaging CareerX Job Exploration event. During their time at the Fed, students learned about the functions of the Bank, as well as bank-related skills that can lead to employment. Students also got to see millions of dollars deposited by the banks in a matter of minutes, one of the highlights of the trip.
In an exciting development, Metro State University in Denver announced that students who complete classes through the GWHS BusinessConnect High School of Business and decide to attend MSU Denver will be eligible to earn 7 college credits, good towards several different degrees. This is an amazing opportunity for our students! Please see the Press Release HERE for more information.
Finally, please mark your calendars for the First Annual CareerConnect CareerLaunch Internship Student Showcase and Information Night. Students will be sharing their experiences and offering advice to their peers on next steps for participating in upcoming Summer 2018 opportunities. The event will be on November 8, from 5:30pm – 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Please RSVP HERE.
