Girls Swimming Breaks Records

This past weekend at the 5A Girls State Swim Meet in Fort Collins, one of GW’s relay teams broke two school records in two events! One record was set in 2011 and the other in 2004.

200 Free Relay | Sydney Melnick (Sr), Claire Neid (So), Annika Moen (Sr), Emily Klaassen (So)
Girls were seeded 15th, dropped 2 seconds and placed 14th, breaking a 4 year old school record by about 2 seconds

400 Free Relay | Sydney Melnick (Sr), Claire Neid (So), Annika Moen (Sr), Emily Klaassen (So)
Girls were seeded 28th, dropped 7 seconds and moved to 16th place, breaking a 12 year old record by about 2 seconds.

200 Medley Relay | Anna Matefy, Becca Hoffman, Emily Klaassen, Madison Smith

200 Yard Individual Medley | Annika Moen

100 Yard Butterfly | Annika Moen

100 Yard Breaststroke | Becca Hoffman (nearly broke the school record!)

200 Yard Free | Sydney Melnick
