In July 2016, the Girls’ Leadership Council gave 20 participants the unique opportunity to become community leaders and philanthropists by conducting site visits with nonprofits, making funding decisions, meeting local legends and leaders, building meaningful relationships, and identifying needs in their communities. Participants left the program empowered and equipped to address and impact their own schools and communities.
Liscenia Jimenez-Chino, a junior in the IB program, represented GW at the week-long workshop. Her project focused on ways to bring diversity to the IB program. She and her peers were recognized at the 2016 Women’s Foundation of Colorado annual luncheon on Wednesday, September 21.
