Sophomore students in the International Baccalaureate Latino Association spent the morning of November 4, their day off, in the kitchen of their sponsor, Ms. Lane, making burritos to sell to the staff at GW. Proceeds from the burrito sales went to support IBLA.
IBLA exists to support high achieving Latino students in the rigorous IB program. Funds raised for the organization are used for:
- School supplies such as laptops and graphing calculators
- College visits
- Tutorial services
- SAT/ACT prep classes
These fund raising events do more than raise money; they teach students leadership and organizational skills. Thanks to everyone who contributed and understood that, although they were advertised as breakfast burritos, they were served at a time that made them good for brunch.
