  • Reminder – Parent/Teacher Conferences This Week!

    Parent/Teacher Conferences are this Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 3:30pm to 7:30pm. Parents and guardians should stop by the cafeteria at any time during those hours to speak with teachers regarding the progress of their students. Please remember, these conversations are just snapshots of your students’ progress and should only last 10 minutes. If you need more time with a teacher, please reach out to them to schedule an appointment for a conference on another day.

  • Volunteers Needed for GW Homecoming Tailgate

    GW’s Homecoming Tailgate is, Saturday, October 21, 2017, 9:00am – 11:00am. Come out to celebrate and have some breakfast snacks. GW is seeking help to set up, work, and clean up the tailgate, as well as donations for the breakfast items. If you are available and/or able to donate, please sign up HERE.

  • Homecoming Chaperones Needed

    GW is looking for chaperones for its 2017 Homecoming Dance. The dance occurs October 21, 2017, 7:30pm – 10:30pm. We are looking for chaperones to work 6:30pm – 8:30pm, 8:30pm – 10:30 pm, and 9:00pm – 11:00pm. We are also looking for adults to collects tickets at the door.     Mr. Beard, GW’s on-site GT Coordinator, will be organizing anyone interested in participating in the annual National History Day competition this year. There have been some changes in organization this year, so if you’re interested, please check in with Mr. Beard in library office 223E this Thursday, October 5, in the afternoon before conferences.

  • Gifted and Talented Lunch Bunch Invitation

    Gifted and Talented Students and students curious about Gifted and Talented at George are invited to the kick off of this year’s bi-monthly GT Discussion Group. This Lunch Bunch will discuss a wide variety of topics around intelligence, the brain, how to use the most of your strengths and passions, and how GT can be both a blessing and a curse when it comes with extra social and emotional stresses. Come network with other GT students at GW and learn how to access supports available here on site and at the district level.
