Patriot Pairs Freshmen Mentees Receive Graphing Calculators
The Nathan Yip Foundation/Friends of Nate were at George on August 15 to attend Ms. Anderson’s first period Patriot Pairs Mentoring Program freshman advisory class and distribute the brand new fancy graphing calculators that their grant made possible. Sam Bacon and Alan Frosh, good friends of the late Nathan Yip, explained how this promising young college student (and DPS graduate) died after getting into a car with an intoxicated friend after a party. His parents have turned this tragedy into a positive memorial by creating a foundation that helps students in Colorado and China. The freshmen each received their very own graphing calculator which Ms. Anderson, math teacher and freshman advisory teacher, will be teaching them to use. The students will be bringing their calculators when they take the PSAT on October 11. Thank you to the Nathan Yip Foundation and affiliated Friends of Nate!
