Patriot Community –
The events of the last two days have been stressful and I hope that today you were able to spend time with friends and family who are close to you. As you have seen in District communications, all schools will be open tomorrow and GW will have our normal 9:05am Thursday start time. We will begin the day with a brief student body meeting in our auditorium to reunite as a community and emphasize the security protocols we have in place to keep our community safe. Students will be released to our regular Thursday block schedule at 9:20am. All after-school events and athletics will resume as scheduled.
As we process the events of the past 36 hours, I want to remind our community of the resources available to students. As always, our mental health team is available to anyone needing support and can be found in our Success Center (Room 112). If you ever have any security concerns please talk to a trusted adult at our school, call Safe2Tell at 1-877-542-7233 (SAFE) or visit www.safe2tell.org. You can also call the Department of Safety at 720-423-3911.
I am profoundly sad for our Colorado community that experienced fear and distress over these past two days. As we move forward, I encourage you to talk to to each other and hold your loved ones close.
With gratitude for this incredible community,
Kristin Waters, Ph.D.

GW’s second annual Culture Fest is this Thursday, April 18, and we still have space available for students who would like to sponsor a booth or perform! Watch an informational video about Culture Fest HERE, and sign up with Ms. Jensen in the library ASAP if you’re interested.
Even if you don’t want to host a booth, come to the Gym on Thursday at 6:00pm to celebrate all of the cultures represented here at George. See you there!
The GW Grow Club has started seedlings in the GW Greenhouse and they are happy, healthy, and growing fast! These beautiful veggie starts will be on sale in early May, just in time for your spring planting. Students are offering heirloom and hybrid tomato varieties, basil, sweet and hot peppers, and eggplants. Plan to buy your veggies at GW, and watch for more information regarding when and where they will be available.
