This past Saturday, all of our hearts were pounding in sync as we witnessed one of the best finishes in recent Gee-Dubb sports history! Your George Washington Boys Varsity Basketball team clinched the victory against Smoky Hill to advance to the Final Four in the CHSAA State Tournament.
This Friday, March 9, GW will take on Rock Canyon at the Denver Coliseum. Tip-off is at 8:30pm, and these young men are determined to take down the Jaguars and advance to the state title game. The championship game will be played on Saturday, March 10, also at the Denver Coliseum at 8:30pm. Tickets can be purchased HERE; student tickets are also available from the GW Treasurer’s Office for $10.
As you plan your trip to the Coliseum, make sure you take the road closures around the building into account. Click HERE for a map of current closures and suggested alternate routes.
Come to Room 223F in the GW Library for Gifted and Talented Brown Bag Lunch this Thursday, March 8. Bring your lunch, get information about Gifted and Talented opportunities at George and beyond, and stay for a GT discussion group with your peers.
Don’t forget, author Donna Cooner will be visiting the GW Library during lunch on Wednesday, March 7. She’ll be sharing her thoughts on building a positive self-image in the face of bullying, and on using personal obstacles as inspiration for writing and life. If you want to purchase one of her novels, stop by the library – we have copies available! If you want your copy autographed, you’ll need to buy it in advance.
