Dedicate to Graduate (DTG) is a program geared towards keeping kids in school. This program was designed to give students an incentive to graduate on time and to reward students for their achievements. This is accomplished by paying for every semester ‘A’ to those students who graduate on time with their class. Credit union training programs teach financial responsibility. Beginning in 2005 DTG pays $10 for every A and $5 for every B.

The Dedicate to Graduate program was developed in association with Public Service Credit Union (PSCU), located within George Washington High School. The purpose of the student credit union is to give business and marketing students a “real life” learning experience in operating a credit union. It also functions to teach all students money management and personal finance before entering the working world.

The student credit union is staffed by Dedicate to Graduate students and is used as a part of the business education curriculum. This internship program provides students with the opportunity to learn a variety of skills while receiving training in the day-to-day operations of the credit union.

The program is a continued extension of the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” The credit union gives students the chance to have hands-on training and takes the lead in assisting education in our school systems. By using the joint resources of both GWHS and PSCU, students are offered a tremendous opportunity.

Dedicate to Graduate

As a member of Dedicate to Graduate at George Washington High School, I

________________________________,

(Name)

Accept membership into Public Service Credit Union.

I understand that I am dedicating my years at GWHS to excel scholastically, and graduate on time with my class.

The Dedicate to Graduate program provides a financial incentive to all members that graduate with their class. This financial incentive will be payable upon my graduation from GWHS.

If for some reason I do not graduate with my class, or move to another school, all money I earned will remain in the Dedicate to Graduate account.
