Come to the GW Library during lunch on Wednesday, March 7 to meet author Donna Cooner! Ms. Cooner is the author of books like Skinny and Worthy. She’ll be sharing her thoughts on building a positive self-image in the face of bullying, and on using personal obstacles as inspiration for writing and life. Seating will be limited, so if you want to attend, make sure you stop by the library before March 5 and let Ms. Jensen or Ms. Kat know.
The Patriot Pairs Mentoring Program is looking for an older student or adult who is great at math to tutor a sophomore in math once or twice a week during first period. We may be able to arrange a small stipend for a student tutor. If you can help, please contact Caren Press at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
Our next round of High School of Business project presentations are coming up, and the CareerConnect team would appreciate your attendance! Students recently visited Stanley Marketplace to learn about innovative and responsible development, and groups will be pitching their proposals for developing a space inside Stanley that would benefit the Denver and Aurora communities. Authentic feedback from a professional audience is a vital part of this process for our students, and your participation will enrich their experience.
The event will be on March 14, with three different time slots to choose from. Please sign up to attend a presentation session using the form HERE, and share the information with any other industry/sector partner that would like to contribute to a great event and have a valuable impact on the students of Denver. For more information, please contact Gideon Geisel at email@example.com.
Some of our GW freshmen are doing a service project fundraiser to raise awareness for dogs and cats who are in need of help. The students chose Max Fund as the charity they wanted to support. If you would like to help, you can locate boxes around the school, in the Front Office, and near the Auditorium. Max Fund will accept donations of blankets, dog and cat food, and other items for pets. For more information, please check the flyers hanging in the GW stairwells. Thank you!
