Tips to Promote Social-Emotional Health Among Teens
It’s that time of the year again, and finals are upon us. The staff at George are working hard to support students as they study and prepare to finish the semester strong. Our scholars are doing great work gearing up for their last week, but finals are always a stressful time, and the mental health team thought that some social-emotional tips would help our students power through to winter break.
As educators and parents, we all have a responsibility to teach positive coping strategies, and we know that children and teens learn best when they see adults using these healthy strategies in their daily lives. Try to take some time this break to model healthy social-emotional strategies to the students in your life. The American Academy of Pediatrics has compiled some ideas to help you and your child HERE.
As always, if you have concerns about your child, don’t hesitate to reach out to the mental health team at GW. We hope you have a wonderful and relaxing break!
