Math Placement

Math Placement

IF YOU ATTEND A DPS PUBLIC MIDDLE SCHOOL

Because you attend a DPS Middle School we will be receiving the results of your 8th grade math assessment that is administered at your school in May.

This math assessment will place you into either Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 1 Honors, Integrated Math 2, or Integrated math 2 Honors. You will be able to see your placement when you receive your schedule in the fall.

If you would like to discuss your math placement prior to receiving your schedule, please email joseph_bolz@dpsk12.org. This is especially important if you believe you should be taking Algebra 2 or higher during your 9th grade year.

IF YOU ATTEND A DPS CHARTER SCHOOL, PRIVATE SCHOOL, OR OUT OF DISTRICT SCHOOL

Because you attend an out of district middle school (private, charter, or a non-DPS middle school) we will need your current math teacher to submit a math placement recommendation form.

This form will be part of the course request process. You will provide your teacher’s email address and we will automatically send them the form and the student’s name with the request to complete the recommendation form for you.

If you would like to discuss your math placement prior to receiving your schedule, please email joseph_bolz@dpsk12.org. This is especially important if you believe you should be taking Algebra 2 or higher during your 9th grade year.
