Blacktail Collective Comic Authors Visit GW Library
Last week, indie comic authors and illustrators from the Blacktail Collective read samples of their work to students over a pizza lunch in the GW library. Each of the four writers worked in his own unique genre, with pieces ranging from a comic adaptation of Hamlet to a psychedelic metal graveyard battle, and they gave an amazing demonstration of the versatility of graphic novels.
The Blacktail Collective’s lunch event is just the first of a number of programs the library is planning for the school year. On Friday, December 16, the library is partnering with Barnes & Noble to host a showcase as part of our GW Bookfair. Blacktail Collective will read their work again, along with a reading from local poet Linda Keller, and an acoustic set from the talented GW teachers in The String Resistance. George is also hosting a visit from author Ellen Hopkins in January! To keep up to date on library happenings, check the library section of the GW website HERE.
