One of the best work based learning supports that Career Connect offers is through our professional mentoring program, Career Coach. Over the last six years, GW has been lucky enough to partner with companies like United Airlines, Kaiser Permanente and Eidos Architects to name a few. This school year, though virtual, we were able to pilot two brand new cohorts within our Web and Digital Design Pathway as well as our Business Pathway. Excitedly, in a first for GW, we have an all female STEM cohort that is being mentored by professionals from Industrial Insights, Inc. These students meet virtually every two weeks during the spring semester to explore all things STEM and gain valuable networking opportunities as well. Meanwhile, in our Business program, we are teaming up with college students from the CU Leeds School of Business Diverse Scholars Program, where we have four GW alumnus who are giving back to the school by being a mentor. This cohort will focus on year 13 planning and identifying and engaging in what students are passionate about. We are absolutely thrilled to be able to continue with this programming and can’t wait for the feedback from our students.
