CareerConnect Round Up – November 8, 2018
As part of CareerCoach’s mentoring partnership with United Airlines, student participants got a behind the scenes, once in a lifetime experience at the United Airlines Training Facility. Students got to fly a Boeing 767 in the training simulator, and went through cabin crew training, which included a water landing, evacuation of a burning plane, and escaping down the slide of a Boeing 757. Additionally, students were given the quick challenge of creating a fictional airline and presenting that airline to an audience, pitching the reasons their airline was the best in the business. It was a great opportunity to practice extemporaneous speaking skills.
Presentations to Denver Green School
Ms. Ozee’s Business Leadership students had an amazing opportunity to take their projects on the road to Denver Green School’s 5th grade classrooms. Students took their learning from the Business Leader Roundtable and created kid-friendly presentations to introduce and teach the nine functions of business to a younger audience. It was an incredible experience, and our high school students had fun interacting with elementary students and making marketing and human resources cool and easy to understand!
