Grading Procedures

Grading Procedures
December 10, 2015 GWHS

We have been talking a lot recently about the wins and accomplishments that have come out of the One George strategic planning process. It is tempting to focus solely on these accomplishments – but our continued success is dependent on constantly re-evaluating our infrastructure and investing time in improving that which needs attention.

At George, our grading systems and policies are imperfect. While many of our teachers have implemented practical and effective systems, when no two teachers are required to adhere to a reasonable baseline, students are left to navigate a variety of classroom grading policies.

I would like to invite you, the GW families and students, to a two-day think tank to examine the frustrations around grading procedures and develop reasonable solutions. We will be meeting in GW’s Community Room on January 4th and 5th from 10:00am – 1:00pm – with a working lunch provided.

If you would like to lend your experience and thoughts to this project, please RSVP by Wednesday, December 16 at 12:00pm by using the form to the right.
