While school moved to remote learning last spring and has continued online through the fall, the GW Food Pantry has remained in operation to serve dozens of school families with regular home deliveries.
“Since March, GW families have stayed connected through the Food Pantry,” says lead volunteer coordinator Jo-Nell Herndon. “And with Thanksgiving and Winter Break upon us, we’re looking forward to delivering seasonal meal baskets.”
Thanksgiving meal baskets will be distributed to interested families on Friday, November 18, offering pick up at the high school and home delivery. They will include turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, yams, canned cranberries, rolls and pie. Information on Winter Break meal baskets will be available soon.
The GWHS Food Pantry is a volunteer-led effort in its fourth year of operation. It is supported through supplies and grants from various community organizations including Food Bank of the Rockies and the GWHS Be Inspired Fund.
