JROTC Updates – Commissioning Ceremony and Marksmanship

The George Washington High School JROTC Marksmanship Team participated in the first competition of the school year, held on September 15 at Lincoln High School. The team consisted of eight competitors and placed within the top four schools in the district.

On September 19, 2018, George Washington High School hosted the district’s annual JROTC Commissioning Ceremony. High School Principals and JROTC Instructors from across the city joined together with families and friends to celebrate the commissioning of the cadet chain of command. Cadet officers are selected from JROTC cadets who excel academically and display exceptional leadership and initiative not only within George Washington High School but within the community.
