Remember, we are on a later bell schedule this year and our school-day is 8:45am – 3:50pm. Subscribe to our Google Bell Schedule HERE.
If you have not yet received your Chromebook, please visit the North Courtyard before school tomorrow to pick one up.
PARKING LOT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
We are encouraging student drivers to utilize the South Parking Lot and staff to use the West Parking Lot, and to reserve the North Parking Lot for pick-up and drop-off. Please consider utilizing Virginia Avenue or Exposition Avenue to drop off your students as well. Additionally, we have requested that CDOT conduct a traffic light timing evaluation to improve traffic flow on Monaco – this will help with parking lot congestion.
School pictures will be taken during math classes on Monday, August 30. Students received picture packets in their math classes today. Please make sure they bring their packets on Monday if they are purchasing pictures.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Date: September 2, 2021
Time: 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Location: North Courtyard & East Lawn
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the event will be held outdoors. We encourage attendees to wear comfortable clothing and shoes made for walking on grass and concrete. Families are asked to RSVP. This will help us plan for a successful Back-to-School Night.
Seniors! Celebrate your last first Monday of school by attending Senior Sunrise! Join us in the GW North Parking Lot Monday, August 30, May 5, from 6:15am – 7:00am. Seniors should arrive at the North Parking Lot at 6:15am to watch the sunrise (predicted at 6:26am) and then have breakfast and celebrate the beginning of Senior Year.
All students are invited to attend the annual Activity Fair, Friday, September 3, 2021, 9:40am – 10:40am in the South Courtyard. We will be operating on an Assembly/Pep Rally Schedule to allow time for students to learn about and sign up for the clubs and activities GW has to offer. If your club would like to have a table, please have your club faculty sponsor email Ms. Richason at firstname.lastname@example.org.

PULSE HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER FUNDRAISING
Your help is needed to raise $50,000 for the Pulse Health and Wellness Center. A brand new School-Based Health Center is coming to GW in 2021-22. DPS will fund general construction and GW is responsible for finishing the space, purchasing furniture, and creating an environment that enhances the visitor’s experience. Students will have access to well care, sports physicals, vaccinations, family therapy, and care for chronic conditions like asthma. Patients are seen whether or not they have insurance!
We are hoping you’ll help us support this effort. Click HERE to learn about how to give at any amount or to donate goods/services.
