Poet and Activist Theo E. J. Wilson Visits GW Patriot Pairs
On December 13, 2017, the Patriot Pairs Mentoring Program hosted their annual holiday party, a lunch buffet and celebration of Patriot Pairs mentees’ successes in 2017. They were joined by surprise guest Theo E. J. Wilson, a slam poet, author, activist, and GW alum. Theo, also known by his handle Lucifury, performed some of his poetry and shared memories of his time at George. He answered students’ questions about his career and recent popular TED Talk, ‘A black man goes undercover in the alt-right,’ and mentioned some of the mentors who helped set him on his path.
Many thanks to Theo E. J. Wilson for spending an inspirational afternoon with the next generation of GW graduates. Best of luck to the Patriot Pairs team in the new year!
