SENIORS – SENIOR PORTRAIT SUBMISSIONS
Seniors, remember to submit your senior portrait to the yearbook! Click HERE to get started, use code 6598, then go to eshare to submit your portrait. Our portrait code is GW. See the posters around the school, or check out the video tutorial on our school website.

DRILL AND DRUMLINE
GWHS is proud to announce it is forming a drill and drumline! Practices will be in the Band Room (room 141) from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you’re interested, plan to attend practice this week. Questions? Email Mr. Middleton.

MATH AND PHYSICS TUTORING
Got a problem? We can help you solve it! Come join us for math and physics tutoring in the Success Center every Wednesday during Student Enrichment from 3:10 to 3:50pm. Questions? Contact Coach T. in the Success Center.

AP EXAM REGISTRATION
AP students, exam registration closes soon! Click HERE to pay for your AP exam(s). Then, check your payment confirmation page and email for join codes you’ll use to order your AP exam(s) at MyAP.CollegeBoard.org. You must complete both steps to finalize your AP exam order (see this LETTER for more info). AP exams are $101 each. A late fee of $10/exam starts November 1, and AP exam registration closes November 10. Register today and don’t miss your opportunity to earn college credit for your high school learning!

DOUGHNUTS WITH DR. DAVIS
Parents, guardians and community members, please join our principal, Dr. Davis, on Wednesday, November 2, from 9:00 to 9:30am in the GWHS Community Room for doughnuts and conversation. Dr. Davis will be hosting a “Doughnuts with Dr. Davis” event the first Wednesday of every month, so watch future Weekly Roundup issues for reminders about upcoming dates. Dr. Davis would love to take your questions, engage in conversation, and listen to your ideas during this casual event.

GW GROUNDS COMMITTEE WORKDAY
Come join our GW Grounds Committee on Saturday, November 5 from 10:00am to 12:00pm to work on weeding, mulching and possibly removing a few dead trees on campus. We will meet at the community garden which is on the south side of the GWHS campus just above the Leetsdale (south) parking lot. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes and bring water. We will provide the gloves and tools. The weather looks great for Saturday, and this is our last work day for the fall, so please join us! FALL PLAY: “ALICE IN WONDERLAND”
Come share in the magic and wonder of our fall play, “Alice in Wonderland”! Three evening performances are available, running Thursday, November 10 through Saturday, November 12 at 7:00pm. There is also a matinee performance on Saturday, November 12 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door, or HERE. FRIENDS OF IB FOUNDATION: IB INFO SESSION AND FUNDRAISER
The Friends of IB Foundation at GWHS is a nonprofit led by a board of GWHS parent volunteers with a mission to support student success and participation in the IB program. The Foundation works hard to meet the educational funding needs of students (through testing fee subsidies, CAS project supplies, and more) and staff (through Extended Essay coaching stipends).

Please join the Foundation for its 2022-2023 kickoff event on Monday, November 14 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Eisenhower Chapel in Lowry to learn more about the IB Program at GWHS and the Foundation’s activities. All current and prospective GW IB parents and guardians are invited to come to a presentation about the requirements and benefits of GW IB, meet other GW IB families, and get an overview of the Foundation’s funding priorities. WINTER SPORTS PLAYER AND FAMILY MEETING
Interested in playing a winter sport? GWHS offers boys basketball, girls basketball, girls swim and dive, boys wrestling and girls wrestling. Join us for an INFORMATIONAL MEETING on Thursday, November 17 from 6:30 to 8:00pm in the GWHS Auditorium to learn more! Find information about the athletics registration process HERE. Questions? DESSERT THEATER
Our theater department students will be presenting their individual work in a dessert theater showcase on Friday, November 18 at 6:30pm in the GWHS Auditorium. You won’t want to miss this fun night of dancing, singing, acting, and improvisation, not to mention scrumptious desserts! Tickets are only $5 and cover the cost of a dessert treat of your choice. GIRLS BASKETBALL FUNDRAISER
Our highly competitive 2022-2023 girls basketball team is fundraising to support tournament travel fees, equipment purchases and banquets for their upcoming season! Please click HERE to donate.

GWHS FOOD PANTRY NOW OPEN
GWHS is proud to announce its Food Pantry is now open for the 2022-2023 school year! All students and staff are eligible to participate. Each Wednesday, food will be distributed at the Food Pantry (located in room 3 in the sub-basement) from 2:45 to 3:30pm. Family-sized bags for weekend meals are available by signing up in advance, and special distributions will be make for holidays, winter break, etc. Interested in participating, or in volunteering or making a donation? SHOP WITH A PATRIOT FUNDRAISER
This year, GWHS is hosting our first annual “Shop With A Patriot Day”! We are partnering with feeder elementary schools to help families in need during the holidays. Elementary students will be paired with a GWHS student, and will join them for a shopping trip on December 10 at Target in Glendale, where Patriots will help their little student select gifts for themselves and their families. Everyone will then return to GWHS to join with their families for a winter celebration with games, food, photos, gift wrapping and more. Each family will also take home a basket complete for a holiday meal.
