ASSEMBLY SCHEDULE 11/12
On Tuesday, November 10 and Thursday, November 12, we will have a modified schedule and upperclassmen will be excused from Community Learning Seminar (see our Assembly Bell Schedule HERE). Over the course of these two days, all 9th graders will attend an extended Community Learning Seminar period where GW mental health staff will be presenting a suicide prevention training program called Signs of Suicide (SOS). Freshmen families received an email on November 4th with more information about this program. If you missed the email, you can see it HERE.
Q1 INCOMPLETE RECOVERY OFFICE HOURS
For students who earned an incomplete during Quarter 1, plan to attend Q1 Incomplete Recovery office hours tomorrow from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. If you have any questions, please reach out to your instructor or your advisor:

NEW TEACHER OFFICE HOURS ON WEDNESDAYS
Teacher office hours on Wednesdays are shifting. Each Wednesday from 12:00pm – 2:00pm teachers will host office hours to support students who are recovering Q1 Incompletes, and from 2:00pm – 3:00pm will host office hours for current Quarter 2 classes. This change has been updated on our Bell Schedule Google Calendar.
FALL AP STUDENTS: REGISTER AND PAY FOR EXAMS BY TOMORROW
Fall semester AP students must pay for and order their AP exams by November 11 (a $10 late fee starts October 28). Click HERE to pay exam fees, then follow the instructions in the payment confirmation page to order exams through CollegeBoard. This final step also enrolls students in their AP Classroom, which provides rich resources for pre-exam study.

Q2 FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE
Q2 Final Exams will be held on December 16 and 17. December 18 is a teacher workday and there is no school for students. Dates and times are listed below and can also be found on our school calendar.

DPS MEAL DISTRIBUTION
Denver Public Schools is providing free weekday breakfast and lunch meals to any child 18 years or younger at curbside locations throughout the city. Pickup is available Monday – Friday 11:00am – 1:00pm unless otherwise noted. Learn more by clicking HERE.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
GWHS’ chapter of The National Honor Society is now accepting applications for new members! The National Honor Society is a nationwide club that celebrates Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. The GWHS NHS is an awesome group of student leaders committed to making a positive difference for students in our school and for the people of our community. We’d love to include you! Qualified candidates have/demonstrate: minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA; commitment to uphold the core values of the National Honor Society; desire to be a force for positive change in our school and community; and willingness to be of service to others. There is a $15 one-time fee (waiver available). Dues pay for cords for graduating seniors, supplies for events and service projects, and our annual club contribution to the GWHS Scholarship Fund. TRAVEL OPPORTUNITY TO WASHINGTON DC
GW is thrilled to announce a travel opportunity for current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors to visit our nation’s capitol in the Spring of 2022. Students will not only be able to take in the sights and sounds of Washington DC, but they will also have the unique opportunity to meet our congressional representatives and learn more about the policy-making and legislative process. FILM VIEWING: I AM NOT A RACIST…AM I?
GW Family Culturally Responsive Engagement is hosting a film viewing of I’m Not A Racist…Am I (directed by a GW alumni), sponsored by The Denver Public Schools Foundation on Tuesday November 17 at 5:00pm. After the film viewing everyone is encouraged to participate in a family friendly workshop, designed to dive deeper into the topic and continuing the important work at GW. There are limited viewing opportunities, so make sure you register early by emailing Michelle Quattlebaum at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note: the film viewing will serve as the affinity sessions for both groups.
GWHS FOOD PANTRY THANKSGIVING BASKETS
The GWHS Food Pantry is offering Thanksgiving Baskets – they will be distributed to interested families on Friday, November 18th for both pick-up or delivery.
The food baskets will include a Turkey, pie, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, yams, canned cranberries & rolls. If you are interested in receiving a basket, please fill out THIS FORM by Friday November 13.
