Weekly Roundup October 26

Weekly Roundup October 26
October 26, 2021 GWHS

COVID – COMMUNITY HEALTH UPDATE
As of today, there are currently 2 reported active COVID-19 cases in our school community.

We provide current active cases of COVID-19 each week in the Weekly Roundup. Each case of COVID-19 is interviewed by our school nurse.  Unless you receive individual communication about exposure to a positive case, you do not need to take any action. As part of the public health investigation:

  • The person diagnosed is being kept home from school until they are no longer infectious
  • The person’s activities when they could have spread COVID-19 were assessed
  • Per Denver Public Schools and Denver Public Health guidelines, students who are fully vaccinated and/or are wearing their mask over their mouth and nose at the time of exposure do not have to quarantine. Any students who do not meet this criteria are instructed to stay home from school for 10 days after the exposure. This is called quarantine.

SCHEDULES – MODIFIED SCHEDULE NOVEMBER 19
Friday, November 19 will be an asynchronous workday for students. Students with a D or F in one or more classes will attend school in-person and follow their regular class schedule to work with teachers one-on-one to complete work in preparation for the end of the semester. All other students will study remotely to complete existing assignments. Students will be informed by Friday, November 12 if they are expected to report in-person on the 19th.

In the spring, we are looking at adding four additional asynchronous workdays that follow the same format so that we can prioritize students who need additional support to complete this year successfully. We will share more information about these dates in December.

SCHEDULES  DECEMBER FINALS SCHEDULE
The December Final Exam Schedule is now available on our public calendar and a printable version is available HERE. Early final exams will only be permitted in the event of an emergency and must be approved by the principal.
