Q2 RETURN TO SCHOOL PLANS
This past Friday DPS shared an update about returning to in-person learning (read here). While we hoped to have information for you today, the meeting with district high schools and central leadership isn’t until tomorrow afternoon. Once we have more information about the specific guidelines for returning to school and a clear plan for how those guidelines will be implemented at GW, we will share an update with our community. We anticipate this update being no later than next Tuesday, September 22.
We know that the District asked families to make their final selection between virtual or in-person by this Friday, but we understand without specific information you can’t make this decision! When we are able to share concrete details with you, we will provide a week-long window for you to confirm or modify your selection for in-person or virtual learning for Q2.
As of right now, we can assure you that no matter what option you choose, you will be able to continue the classes that are currently on your schedule.
Q1 FINALS SCHEDULE
Finals for Q1 classes will be held Wednesday, October 14, and Thursday, October 15. See our School Calendar HERE for specific times for each final.

SCHOOLOGY PARENT RESOURCES
We are using Schoology in all of our classes to manage course materials, assignments, and grading. Parents have access to their student’s progress through their Parent Portal account. Click HERE for a parent guide to Schoology.
COLLEGE AND CAREER SUCCESS VIDEO SERIES
In years past, we have hosted a College and Career Success Night where families can learn about the college enrollment process and figure out the path for life after high school. This year, Ms. Carlson from the Future Center will be using a series of videos, accompanied by office hours to communicate this information and help you plan for the future! Click HERE to view.
This week will be focused on figuring out what you want to do after high school and how to apply to schools. Next week will be focused on Financial Aid and FAFSA.
Join us for this week’s office hours on Thursday, September 17 from 6:30pm – 7:30pm by clicking HERE. Note: Spanish interpreters will be available upon request for the September 23 office hours! See the calendar event for more information.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT RECORDING
If you missed our virtual Back to School Night don’t worry – you can watch it at any time! Hear from faculty, students, and Dr. Waters about the priorities guiding our community as we continue the critical work of addressing the systemic inequities and racism at GW that have impacted our students of color since our school’s founding.
