ASSESSMENT – PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 9 AND ACCUPLACER
On Wednesday, October 12, all sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT. There will be no school for freshmen or seniors. On Thursday, October 13, all freshmen will take the PSAT 9, and seniors who need to demonstrate competency will take the Accuplacer (seniors, if you are demonstrating competency, you received your room assignment and important testing details in your @dpsk12.net email on Monday, October 3). There will be no school for sophomores and juniors. Important reminders:

**Students will receive an email to their @dpsk12.net account just prior to their test day with their room assignment and approximate end times, and testing details.
**Students should plan to arrive at GWHS at 8:30am. Testing room doors close promptly at 9:00am.
**There will be no locker access, so students should bring only no. 2 pencils, a snack/drink, and a graphing calculator (GWHS will provide a calculator for use by students who do not have one).
**Cell phones will need to be powered off and collected by proctors.
**Lunch will be available in the cafeteria immediately after standard testing.

PSAT/NMSQT Student Guides, which include a full-length practice test and information on the National Merit Scholarship Program, are available to students in grades 10 and 11. Stop by the Library to pick one up today!

FAMILY/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Come join us at GWHS from 4:00 to 7:30pm on Tuesday, October 11 or Thursday, October 13 for a casual meet-and-greet with your student’s teachers at Family/Teacher Conferences! We will provide details about how conferences will be structured in an email later this week, as well as in next week’s Weekly Roundup. You may select the conference date that works best for your family; there is no need to attend both dates. Additionally, conferences will not require formal time slots, so choose a time within our open hours to drop in.

RTD MOBILE APP NOW AVAILABLE FOR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS
Students who are eligible for DPS RTD tickets can now download the mobile ticketing app. On Monday, September 26, DPS transportation sent eligible students this flier (multilingual versions here) via SchoolMessenger. The flier went directly to eligible student email address, so students should monitor their email. The email will let eligible students know they can now begin using the app by signing up using their DPS email address. DPS transportation understands adopting the app may take time, so eligible students can still order paper tickets through December 2022 by emailing Sherri Jones. Starting January 2023, all eligible students will be expected to use the mobile app on their smartphone. Questions? Email transportation@dpsk12.org.

PICTURE RETAKE DAY
If you missed our school picture day at the beginning of the school year, plan to attend our picture retake day on Friday, October 7. Students needing a picture retake should plan to go to the Auditorium during lunch, or during an off period.

TU VOZ/YOUR VOICE STUDENT SURVEY
Students, on Monday, September 26 you received an email to your @dpsk12.net account with a personal link to the Tu Voz/Your Voice survey being conducted by Denver Public Schools. DPS encourages you to participate, as this is your opportunity to provide feedback about your experience in school so DPS can understand how to better support students like you. There will be an opportunity to complete the Tu Voz/Your Voice survey during Community Learning on October 6, so be sure to flag your email so you have your survey access available. If you wish to complete your survey earlier, you may (it takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete). The survey closes Sunday, October 9.

PATRIOTS FOOTBALL FUNDRAISER
Our Patriots football team is having an amazing season, with a 4-1 record thus far! Currently, the football team has the largest roster it has seen in many years, and they are running short on basic equipment needs for all these amazing athletes. Please help us fundraise for items like protective/ safety gear and other essential team equipment! You can donate by scanning this QR code.

SHOP WITH A PATRIOT FUNDRAISER
This year, GWHS is hosting our first annual “Shop With A Patriot Day”! We are partnering with feeder elementary schools to help families in need during the holidays. Elementary students will be paired with a GWHS student, and will join them for a shopping trip on December 10 at Target in Glendale, where Patriots will help their little student select gifts for themselves and their families. Everyone will then return to GWHS to join with their families for a winter celebration with games, food, photos, gift wrapping and more. Each family will also take home a basket complete for a holiday meal.

We need your help to raise money to make this venture possible! If you prefer to donate goods for this event, please see our Amazon Wish List.
