The Friends of International Baccalaureate (IB) Scholars Foundation is a non-profit organization led by a volunteer board of GWHS parents to support student participation and success in the GWHS IB Program.
One of the academic paths offered by GWHS, the IB Program offers rigorous coursework to students, who choose to either immerse themselves through the IB Diploma Program or take IB courses in their areas of interest. To read more about the IB Program, click HERE.
To meet the educational funding needs of the IB Program, following are some areas that have been supported by the Foundation:
** Testing fees for students, as needed
** Stipends for dedicated teachers that assist students with Extended Essays, as required for an IB
Diploma
** Tutoring for students
** Scholarships for IB class activities
** Grants for Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) projects
** Other IB-related requests from teachers or administration
We are always welcoming new members and volunteers to the Foundation! If you are interested in helping the committee pursue its mission, contact us via email to gwibfoundation@gmail.com. The time commitment is relatively small – we meet about 4 times a year and conduct 1-2 fundraisers per school year.
