COMPLETE THE “YOU BENEFIT!” FORM FOR HEALTHY FREE MEALS AND MORE!
All students in DPS will have access to free healthy, nutritious school meals beginning in the 2023-24 school year thanks to the Healthy School Meals for All program approved by Colorado voters! While meals will be provided for free to all DPS students through Healthy School Meals for All, families will still need to complete a form to ensure DPS gets full access to available federal funding.

What this means for families:

  • Please continue to fill out the You Benefit! form (formerly referred to as the Meals Application). We ask all DPS families to please complete the You Benefit! form during registration for the 2023-24 school year. By completing the form, you will help us access all available funds to cover the cost of meals, and other nutritional programs for students.
  • Families who fill out the You Benefit! form may qualify to receive discounted school fees, class materials, bus passes, utilities support and more!
  • All household income information provided through this form is strictly confidential and protected by law. Only one form is required for all children in the household. Immigration, migrant, citizenship or refugee status is not required when completing the form.

Learn more about the Healthy School Meals for All program in a short video in English and Spanishthis flier (Spanish is on page 2), or by visiting the Healthy School Meals for All website. If you have questions about completing the You Benefit! form, please contact the DPS Food & Nutrition Services department by calling 720-423-5600 or emailing the foodservices@dpsk12.org inbox.

SENIORS – FINANCIAL AID (FAFSA AND CASFA) UPDATE
ALL seniors are strongly encouraged to complete a financial aid application, either the FAFSA (US citizens, permanent residents and eligible non-citizens), or the CASFA (any student not eligible for federal financial aid). If you’re not sure which application you will complete, stop by the Future Center for help. Completion of a financial aid application is the number one way students fund their college education (trade/technical college, community college, and four-year colleges and universities). Please click HERE for step-by-step information to help you prepare to submit your financial aid application. There are TWO action items that are required for completion before you will be able to submit the FAFSA/CASFA:
  1. Gather all relevant 2022 federal tax documents from your parent/guardian, and
  2. Create a StudentAid.Gov account (FSA ID) and SAVE your username, password, and back-up code.
Please note that StudentAid.Gov accounts (FSA ID) MUST be created at least three days prior to submitting the FAFSA. See the attached PDFs for help with creating accounts for FAFSA and CASFA.

SENIORS – FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP REGISTRATION IS OPEN
All seniors considering enrolling in college in the 2024-25 school year should submit a financial aid application. On Wednesday, January 24 from 3:00 to 7:00pm, the DSF Future Center will be hosting a Financial Aid Workshop. We will have four one-hour time slots available for students to choose from. Expertly trained staff and volunteers will meet with students and families one-on-one to complete their financial aid application. Pre-registration is required. Please carefully read ALL of the information on the registration page. Don’t forget to create your StudentAid.Gov accounts (FSA ID) a minimum of three days before you plan to submit the FAFSA, and bring all your 2022 tax documents to your appointment. You can register by scanning the QR code on this FLYER or clicking HERE. Questions? Contact Ms. Minturn.
