Patriot Pairs Mission: Patriot Pairs Mentoring helps support the academic, social, emotional and professional development of George Washington High School students through authentic mentoring relationships with trained community members who have prior experience navigating education and career systems. Mentors meet with their mentee each week to help their students experience new possibilities and graduate from high school prepared to become lifelong learners and contributing members of their communities in a diverse world.

QUEENSHIP

QueenShip Mission: Empowering ALL young people. QueenShipp is committed to empowering all young people, including queer, trans, and non-binary students. We believe that every young person deserves a support system that affirms their identity and helps them reach their full potential. We work to create inclusive environments where all students can thrive.

QueenShipp Program Outline: The QueenShip Leadership and Mentorship includes leadership development, mentorship and community engagement through the use of various literary resources (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama and digital media). Students will demonstrate their understanding through various forms of writing and will use collaborative discussions to explore, evaluate and synthesize multiple perspectives.

The key emphasis for this class will include advocacy, cultural social impact and community. Skills and activities consist of, but are not limited to, self-esteem, efficacy and advocacy, conflict resolution skills, goal setting, communication.
