We are so excited to welcome members of the class of 2030 and their families to George Washington High School (GW). According to the district’s database, your child is projected to attend GW in August 2026 as of April 2026. Our administrative team and staff are thrilled that you have chosen to attend GW!
To assist in the transition from middle school to a successful high school experience, GW and other DPS high schools will host Ninth Grade Academy (NGA) for all incoming freshmen. NGA is the ultimate orientation for students. Led by students and designed for students. We are thrilled to have many students already excited to attend GW’s own Patriot Academy. If your student WILL participate, please confirm your registration by completing this form. Even if your student can only make two or three of the days, we believe it is a valuable resource and would encourage them to attend.

Evaluation of the Ninth Grade Academy shows that students who participated improved their academic performance, had a stronger attachment to their high school and their peer groups, and were more likely to graduate from high school.
